The story begins way back in 1998 when three of the boys met for the first time. They realized they had the same musical influences which originated from classic 70’s hard rock. They talked about how cool it would be that someday have a band with that kind of feel to it. But at the moment they had other obligations and projects the time was never there. As time went the boys made a name for themselves in different bands. During these years they managed to get a lot of experience with record releases and a vast amount of live performances around both Europe and Asia.In 2005 their paths crossed once more as they decided to form a band that originated from that classic hard rock era, but with a much more powerful edge to it. The three of them seriously started to talk about making this happen, once and for all. But a guitar player was needed. Jonas said that he had a friend who might be interested in joining. So with Andreas a brilliant guitar player and song writer also with prior experience of record releases and live performances was the perfect choice for this band. Now the four of them began to rehears and write songs together. And soon an addition to "The New Wave Of Swedish Metal" was formed. Release party at the famous rock club KB in Malmo. In November 2006 the band had a release party at the famous rock club KB in Malmo. The release was done in conjunction with the "Close Up Made Us Do It" festival arranged by the Swedish metal magazine "Close Up Magazine".

A lot happening during 2007

Local radio stations picked up the CDS and it ended up on various play lists. A new energy boost on drums

Long time friend of the band, Thomas Helgesson has joined on drums. Thomas is an energetic, hard-hitting drummer and was the perfect choice for a new boost to the bands ego.

Right now the band is working on their debut full-length CD due come out during 2007 and in the meantime they’re putting together a small festival and club tour for the late summer and fall. Things are happening in America

April 26 a longer interview with Backhander was made for Phibble Radio in USA. The station is one of many that have come to like the band and their CDS has been frequently played on their play lists. A new song ‘Fastlane’ is growing and have also been received well in the US. Backhander song to featured on a Street race DVD

On April 30 the ‘Birka Cup Street Race’ once again started in Stockholm. And on their new DVD released together with the race a couple of songs from Backhander were chosen.England shows interestThe band got contacted by UK radio show called "The Noise Department" on Totally Radio which led to the song "Wanted Man" got played in May.
