Do you visit blogs of authors or musicians?

Question

A small distributor/publisher recently announced that they will no longer accept manuscripts from authors who don't have blogs. So, the question I have is, do fans really care about blogs from authors or musicians?

I spend a lot of time reading blogs but those blogs are teching me something. I don't really go to blogs to be entertained.
